Empowering Environmentally Conscious Youth

Focus Area: Environmental Education, Rural Youth Empowerment and Climate Action
With the support of Peer Lead, this three-month environmental education project was successfully implemented to strengthen youth engagement in environmental conservation and farming activities at home and within their families.
In detail, the initiative focused on raising critical awareness about biodiversity, natural resources management, and climate action within rural communities. Through this milestone program, 62 youth from 10 villages in Rathedaung Township, Rakhine State gained practical, hands-on knowledge, significantly increasing their confidence to take an active role in local farming and community-led climate action.

Environmental Awareness Training
Htar Htar Aye from Kan Pyin Village: ” I regret that _I did not think of deeply how forest is important for our lives and community before coming this training. This training sessions made me to explore more about forest resources nearby and think of deeply relationship between forest and our community.”
Myo Min Tun from Thetkatoe Village: “Before joining this, I admit that I did not have such a sense. I see climate change as normal conditions and have been acting like normal. Then I thought that climate change is natural. It is not associated with our human being and our actions. From this training I learned current climate change is being accelerated by human activities in many ways.”
Youth-Driven Environmental Workcamp
Kyaw Than Hlaing from Kan Pyin Village_ “Visiting the local farmers opened my eyes to just how challenging their daily survival really is. But amid those hardships, I found immense hope.
During our trips, we met a young farmer from Kyauk Sar Tai village who completely inspired me. After realizing how deeply chemical inputs were harming the land, he made the brave choice to switch entirely to organic farming.
This workcamp wasn’t just a learning experience for me—it was a wake-up call. Seeing the damage our actions inflict on the environment made me realize that protecting Mother Earth is a responsibility we all share. Moving forward, I am determined to bring these lessons home, starting by sharing them with my own family and the children in the village.”
Emergency Education Supportn to Schools in Rakhine

Emergency in Education Support to Rathedaung and Maungdaw Townships, Rakhine State
With the generous support of the Child’s Dream Foundation, Twinleaf Arakan successfully implemented an emergency education support initiative across 16 schools in Rathedaung and Maungdaw Townships. By providing essential school stationery, critical teaching materials, classroom furniture, and crucial infrastructural repairs, this project has helped foster a safer, healthier, and more encouraging learning environment for local children.
Key Intervention Achievement
Essential Stationery Distribution:
_Distributed 677 dozen notebooks to 1,420 students to support their daily learning.
_Provided 2,708 pens and pencils to ensure every student is fully equipped for class.
Empowering Teachers & Classrooms:
_Supplied vital teaching materials to local schools, including 32 whiteboard sheets, 96 whiteboard markers, 160 Pilot refill inks, 48 whiteboard dusters, and 64 boxes of chalk.
Improving School Infrastructure:
_Delivered 40 sets of school benches to Mro Yu and Yet Nu schools, improving daily classroom comfort.
_Built 4 school latrines for Mro Yu and Yet Nu schools to support proper sanitation and hygiene.
_Provided bamboo walls to Mro Yu school to repair and secure old, damaged school walls.
