WHO WE ARE

Twinleaf Arakan is a youth-led non-profit based in Rakhine, Myanmar. We work with small-scale farmers and community youths to promote sustainable agriculture, protect natural resources and build resilient communities. We focus on young people and farmers of all ages, helping them and apply eco-friendly farming methods that secure livelihoods and protect the environment.

Twinleaf Arakan more focuses on the training-based program that aims to empower young farmers and various aged farmers in sustainable farming practices, sustainable food production & consumption, local food security and environmental conservation.
Twinleaf Team have been hard working to emerge a practical learning center in Rakhine State, Myanmar where young farmers generation learn the farming skills, improve good practices for climate action, explore their potential of livelihood opportunities in the local agri-food system.


WHAT WE DO

We run training programs for rural youths from farming community and projects that support farmers to

  • Learn sustainable farming methods and techniques
  • Protect environment and natural resources
  • Produce and consume food responsibly
  • Improve food security and local livelihoods
  • Take local climate actions

Currently we have been running 9-month youth intensive training on sustianable farming and community Action at Center for Soil Defenders of Twinleaf Arakan where 25youths from six different townships of Rakhine learn and build their practical skills, conservation knowledge and tools to sustain their livelihoods.

OUR PROGRAMS

Center for Soil Defenders

Center for Soil Defender is a training school where young generation from rural farming communities learn the sustainable farming skills, develop environmental conservation practices and explore their potential opportunities in the agri-food sector.

Community Impact Program

This program aims to promote to transform the farming practices of current farming generation to be regenerative, sustainable and economically profitable.
